Christian religious figures reflect the divisions between the main branches of Christianity. The icons are images rather than realistic portraits. They intend to show the heavenly glory of Jesus and other figures.

Christians have three-dimensional statues and half-relief images of religious scenes in plaster, wood, and stone to show the times of Jesus. Religious images show scenes from Jesus' life in stained glass windows.

The word "apostle" means "to send forth". The apostles were called by Jesus to a special mission. Jesus chose these twelve apostles to eventually carry on his work. The apostles make laws, teach, and claim for their teachings so that it should be received as the word of God. They punish, administer sacred rights, provide successors, and they could receive new revealed truths in order to propose it to the Church.

The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he decended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. AMEN.

Jesus is the most influential figure in Christianity. He was a great teacher and a great prophet. Millions of people hail him as a saviour or Lord. Jesus was born to a virgin, and he lived a sinless life. Jesus claimed he had the power to forgive sins, to cast our demons, and to determine people's eternal destinys. Jesus angered the political leaders of his day so they crucified him on a cross, but three days later, he rose from the dead.
